LGBT Elder Resources

We believe it is critical for all seniors and their caregivers to feel safe and accepted as they make decisions about their needs regardless of the setting.

With funding from The Samara Fund for LGBT Issues, a Component Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation we are able to support trainings and outreach for health care providers and the general public, highlighting the unique challenges faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) elders.  A series of seminars will be offered during the next year throughout Vermont in partnership with local Area Health Education Center’s featuring  “Gen Silent”, a 2011 documentary film that profiles LGBT elders living in the Boston, Massachusetts area. "The generation that fought the hardest to come out, may be going back in to survive."  For information contact Lisa at 1-802-748-5182 - see schedule for VT Screenings Here .
